CIR Sessions available for review

Unsolicitied responses from CIR participants affirm that it was an excellent City Impact Roundtable April 3-5, thanks to great Design Team planning and exceptional hosting by Charles Daugherty and the Cedar Rapids Team. Transcripts of the general sessions may be reviewed at www.cityreaching.com (link on home page right column).

Keynote Speaker: Francis Frangipane...

Pastor Francis Frangipane spoke with us each evening of the City Impact Roundtable in Cedar Rapids.

LIVE-blogging during 'City Blogging' workshop...

Eric Swanson, author, now blogger... is doing some live-blogging during the national "City Impact Roundtable". Click to visit his blog.

As we were entertaining interactive questions and live-demo's, we issued at official invite for Eric to join the 'Sample City Blog', and then blog something so everyone could see how easy it is. Eric jumped up, shot a digital pic of Neil Cox (me)... uploaded it to the 'Sample City Blog'... and hit the orange PUBLISH button.

This is just how quickly & easily our guys & ladies can now 'connect & communicate' at the speed of Light.

Wichita area blog emerges...

As a result of the CIR workshop today, here's one city reacher that immediately went out and started a blog to help accelerate city-reaching in their area.

Meet Timothy Conner -- also a Governors Prayer Team coordinator for Kansas...

Web Teaser: "Accelerating City Reaching"

In this afternoon's general session at the CIR we'll be raising web-awareness as a great stimulant for any city-reaching movement.

[My good friend and comrade in the blogosphere -- Joe Walsh, SacramentoChristians.com -- could not be with us today. But you'd definitely want to visit his site... or the CaliforniaChristians.net state site.... and catch his enthusiasm for using blogs to accelerate prayer networks, disaster-relief preparedness, and of course, 'city blogs'... perhaps for YOUR city.]

It's not just about 'blogging', but that's a very active strategy in the web today... So it makes a good illustration. Here's the white paper I generated just in time for the CIR... called "Why City Blogging? Top 10 Reasons".

You might also find "Evangelism at the Speed of Light" to be a stimulating read. It was the basis for an evangelism class I helped with at Crossroads Bible College [who are 'training multicultural city reachers'!]

And if you attend this afternoon's "City Blogging Workshop" as we create the 'Sample City Blog'... you too will be empowered to start using this new FREE & EASY capability to better CONNECT & COMMUNICATE in your city... and to network with all the other cities throughout the 50-state Blews.Network of 'blogs+news=blews'.

You can get a feel for it, even now... [continued]

Social Networking Tools for Conference Blogging

"If we're in the era of 'web 2.0', then it stands to reason that we're also in the era of 'conference 2.0', doesn't it? No, I'm not saying that we're going to go un-conference on everything, but I would like to see a bit more in the area of 'social & technological awareness' around conference communications."
